Register as a Contributor
Who can be a Contributor?
Contributors should have expertise in an area directly or indirectly related to volunteering. Typically a Contributor may be a Volunteer Centre employee, a voluntary sector infrastructure employee, or a volunteer manager with a large volunteer involving organisation. But they could be anyone with knowledge relevant to volunteering.
Your field of expertise may be Volunteer Management, but equally, we need Contributors with expertise in a range of related areas such as Data Protection, Health and Safety, Child Protection, Accessibility, Funding and Confidentiality.
Generally we would encourage contributing organisations to appoint one representative to contribute to the Resource on their behalf.
What do they do?
Contributors either write their own material, source material from their own organisations, or identify other sources of information (such as sample policies from organisations known to them). The Contributor must secure the necessary copyright permissions, ensure items conform to our Editorial Guidelines and submit items to the Resource.
Contributors are prompted to update items after 6 months. Items that are not updated will not be publicly available on the Resource.
Contributors also undertake peer reviews. A new submission to the Resource will be forwarded to a randomly chosen Contributor for peer review. The reviewing Contributor should scan the submission to ensure that it is legible, links work, copyright permission has been sought and that the document conforms to the other editorial guidelines.
